What should put in sidebar widget?
Did you have a try that you go to visit a site, but you wait until half die also nothing had happend?Actually, maybe it is because that blog’s sidebar widget too many….And many of them is useless………If a blog’s sidebar widget is too many,it will cause slow in traffic
So…….how to?What widgets should put in sidebar?
Must Have
RSS Subscribe:Because, as a blogger, you’ll happy if many people subscribe your blog. So,the Subscribe icon should be in the eye of your readers!(means easy been found)
Catogeries:To let your readers can find your post easily.
Search Bar:same function with “Categories”.
(P/S:say sorry to my readers, cause my Categories have problem…..So,I dont put it out….)
Should Have
About Me:To increase your reliability.Show them who you are=)
(my About Me is just your up-right side)
Recent post:Your readers can know what the post that you recently write.
Consider Have
Actually, this kind of widget have many much more………..Basicaly,it should help readers to find out the posts that they want to go through, and it also should be increase your blog’s traffic
Blog sociaty:Just like MyBlogLog,BlogCatalog,Twitter,Technorati, and some tag cloud……This kind of widget can let many people to know your blog
Translation:If you found that majority of you readers is chinese readers(just like me….heheh).Maybe,you should consider to put in your sidebar.
Shouldn’t Have
Basically, the widgets that have no any benefit for readers, you should not put into.Because it just waste your readers’ precious time!Just imagine, will you visit a blog that have to wait until half die also no use? Sure you won’t!You will sure “Alt+F4″ is it?
Show time and date:Just because we can refer it in our own PC….So…..it is useless for readers(that’s why I don’t put the happy calander anymore=))
My two cents:
Actually,in conclusion,if you found that a widget that can’t bring any benefit for you and readers,so better no to put into sidebar.Actually,I’m still study with this. So,I’ll find the best widget for my readers!
