Kubuntu
Finally , I did it!!!!hehehehehe!!!Did you still remember last time I ask your opinion about which OS is more better? Click this link to know more about. Because I want to change my current OS, XP. Because XP also have many bugs…..So easy the spyware and virus come in. But today,I successfully to change it=)
KUBUNTU
Ya, finally I choose it. Because of these reason:
1.Free things(yes, I like free things)
2.Size not too large(download just 45 min)
3.Nice interface(better than XP……heheheh)
4.Free from viruses

I stuck with Windows XP because that is what most games are made for at the moment. I am still a gamer at heart.

Haha, congrats. I am still a Windows XP user. But as you know already, I have dual boot OS, Windows XP and Ubuntu, installed in my laptop. But still, only once in a while when I have the mood, I will login to Ubuntu.

My boyfriend said he would also want to change to Kubuntu or Ubuntu and don’t want to use Windows. He said he wants to install Wine and run Windows game there. I advised him to stick with Windows because he is a hardcore gamer. Although Wine can be installed in Linux to run Windows appliation, it is still not recommneded for PC gamers.

Congrats on your first steps into the world of Linux. I know how it feels as I also started switching to Linux (Mandriva with KDE desktop in my case) about a year ago. Just remember to take it slowly, it is quite a big upgrade and a big change switching to Linux. And always remeber that it is free in both senses: no cost, and even more importatntly: freedom.

I use Kubuntu 8.04. What types of open source software are you looking for? To all who said that they want to try linux, but don’t know how it is very easy with Kubuntu.
